High Efficiency Guide Plate for Finishing Hot Rolling Mill

Guide plate of roller is a typical high temperature wear parts and the service condition is very bad as the result of combination of high-temperature oxidation and wear. It often happens that whole guide plate was abandoned for the wear out of roll pass. After detailed failure analysis and hard researching work, our researcher developed high efficiency guide plate products at last. The layered composite material, which is composited of alloy layer with good resistance to wear, high-temperature and high hardness and the base material with high toughness, is locally formed in the exiting end which is the roll pass with strict dimension requirements. Thus the service life the guide plate can be increased greatly. The service life of high efficiency guide is 3 times and 20 times of that made of high-chromium alloy cast iron and normal cast iron respectively, and rolling yield for the product line can be increased 0.5%. It will finally decrease the product cost (cost of guide equipments can be cutted for 30% - 50%) and improve profits. The high efficiency guide plate product of our company is first in China, and has been used in nearly one hundred large and medium sized steel companies with good application results. This technique won Reward of Science and Technology in 1990, and first prize for metallurgical products in Department of Metallurgy. In recent years, a new generation products with higher wear resistance has been developed.
